Style Spotlight: Jaeger London

Jaeger London's designs are a breath of fresh air. I must admit that up until very recently I was unaware of this designer. This is a most grievous offense, because once I took one glance at their Spring 2012 collection I was in love. Between the feminine silhouettes, girly details, and soft color palette there is plenty to adore. Jaeger London is a brand that I will definitely keep track of in the future.

Look of the Day: Splash of Blue

Today was one of those days that everything seems kind of...well, blah. The weather outside has turned wet and nasty, and the sky has blanketed everything in a dismal shade of gray. It was one of those days that you want nothing more than to stay curled up under the covers with nothing but a cup of hot chocolate to keep you company. Since there were places I had to be today, I couldn't afford this luxury. Still, I found a way to keep my spirits up with this bright blue, studded skirt.
P.S. The lighting on these photos is really weird. Not only does the skirt not look as bright as it should, my face looks really shiny. Sorry!

Look of the Day: Metallics

Truth be told, I'm not really a heels person. Not that I don't love the look, I do, but I have difficulty walking in them. Not to mention that at 5'7" I'm already taller than most people I know. Despite this, when I saw these loafer style heels in a magazine over a year ago, I fell in love. However, $119 was a hefty price tag for a pair of shoes that I probably wouldn't wear very often, if ever. Imagine my excitement when a few weeks ago I found them on deep clearance for $27. It was much too good of a deal to pass up.
This long back story leads us to today, when I was struck with the urge to wear these heels for the first time. They had simply been sitting in my closet, still wrapped in the tissue paper from the store. I am fully aware that the tights don't match well with the heels, but over all, I like the look.
P.S. I'm not sure if you can tell with the lighting, but the sweater is silver. Really silver. I love it.
P.S.S. It's snowing! Its sooo pretty outside.

Wishing for Wednesday: Marc by Marc Jacobs

There are few things I appreciate more than a well-made handbag. Its for this reason that when I find one I like, I tend to use it until it literally falls apart at the seams. Even at that it would have to be severely damaged for me to buy a new bag.
Marc by Marc Jacobs creates my favorite line of handbags ever. I love the fun colors and interesting details, but its the quality and structure of these bags that attracts me the most. Even though I would love one of these incredible handbags, sadly they are incredibly more expensive than my budget will ever allow.

What are you wishing for this Wednesday?

Style Spotlight: Christopher Kane

There certainly is a lot to love about Christopher Kane. While he's know for being edgy yet feminine, its his use of clean lines that I enjoy most about his work. His spring 2012 collection is full of vibrant colors and interesting fabrics, which I personally love. Christopher Kane's collections continuously prove that he is able to generate new and unique designs. Even though some of the pieces he creates are a little edgier than I could pull off, I still wish I could own every item that he sends down the runway.

Look of the Day: Soft and Sweet

Hi, Everyone! I bought this cashmere sweater over the summer, while I was in Europe. It was a little extravagant for my budget, but the phrase "when in Rome"  (or Paris, as was the case) has always stuck with me. I went ahead and bought it anyway. I love this cardigan to death. Not only is it super soft, but I love the cut of it as well. This is a really versatile piece, that is easy to dress either up or down.
P.S. I just realized I've worn this necklace in every post so far. Sorry!

Look of the Day: Cozy Up

Its been a pretty dreary day around here, due to the cold and constant drizzling.  Today is the kind of day that calls for warm layers and a cup of hot chocolate. Luckily, I had both.
I've had the sweater I'm wearing for a while, but I don't get to wear it as much as I like, which is a shame because I love it. What's genius about it is that each button is different, which is something you can't really see in the picture. (Sorry!) Since this look seemed a little dark, I added a pair of glittery socks.
